What exactly does dcyphr.® do?
dcyphr.® is an AI consultancy from Heidelberg, Germany, with a strong bias for implementation: we prioritise AI use cases with an ROI frame, build AI agents and automations into real processes, run physical AI and robotics projects, build custom software with AI and train leadership and teams. We also run AICon, the largest AI conference in the Rhine-Neckar region.
Which companies is dcyphr.® AI consulting suited for?
Primarily mid-sized companies (the German Mittelstand) – manufacturing, logistics, retail, services, healthcare – as well as corporate units and growth-oriented startups. The experience comes from projects with Microsoft, Porsche, IBM, OTTO and SAP; today it is applied mostly in mid-sized companies in Heidelberg, Mannheim, the Rhine-Neckar region and across the DACH region.
How does an AI project with dcyphr.® work – and how fast?
In three steps: assess (AI readiness, data, use-case prioritisation), pilot (prototype, agent or robot demo in the real process – in weeks, not quarters) and scale (integration, operations, AI Act governance, team enablement). A first pilot is typically in production within four to eight weeks.
How much does AI consulting with dcyphr.® cost?
The 15-minute intro call is free and non-binding. After that we work with transparent offers: workshops and executive briefings at a fixed price, pilots as fixed-price packages with a defined outcome, ongoing support on a daily rate or retainer. You get a number before we start, not a consulting deck.
What is AICon?
AICon is the AI conference platform by dcyphr.® and the largest AI conference in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region – with up to 150 speakers per event, around 1,000 attendees, more than 50 partners and humanoid robots live on stage. Formats: AICon Heidelberg (Science × Business), AICon Industry Mannheim and AICon HR.
Where does dcyphr.® operate?
Headquartered in Heidelberg with a strong focus on Mannheim and the Rhine-Neckar region. Projects run across Germany and the DACH region – on site, hybrid or remote. Through the Heidelberg-Palo Alto Club we also maintain a bridge to Silicon Valley.
Does dcyphr.® also build custom software?
Yes. Under “AI Development” we build custom software with AI – web apps, internal tools, integrations and agents. What used to seem impossible or unaffordable is now within reach for SMEs: developed closer to the customer than ever before, and running in weeks rather than months.

Matthias Walenda
Entrepreneur, AI visionary and founder of dcyphr.®. More than 25 years of founder experience, in AI since 2017, founder of the ITCS® conferences (Europe’s largest tech-recruiting events, exit 2023). dcyphr.® is his fifth startup – an AI-first company focused 100 % on AI.
He sees himself as a bridge builder between technology and people: getting research out of the labs and into applied solutions and business models fast – above all for the Mittelstand.
dcyphr.® is a member of the City of Heidelberg’s Alliance for Training and Work, where Matthias works in the “Future of Employers” group. As a member of the Heidelberg-Palo Alto Club (HPAC) he builds bridges between Silicon Valley and Heidelberg.
